(Not Just the Engaged Ones!)
by Christin Coats Photography
Let me tell you something I’ve learned over the years as a photographer: every love story is worth capturing. Not just the ones with shiny new rings or white dresses. Whether you’ve been dating for three months, just celebrated your engagement, or are ten years into marriage—your love deserves to be documented.
So often we wait for the “big moments” to have photos taken. But what about all the in-betweenmoments? The quiet, everyday kind of love—the goofy glances, the way your hands always find each other, the laughter that still bubbles up years later. That’s the good stuff. And that’s why every couple needs a photo session.
Here’s why I think it’s something worth making time for:
1. You’re Creating a Visual Story of Your Relationship
Photos tell your story—where you are now, what your love looks like in this season. Whether you’re in the newly-in-love stage or have built a life together, a photo session helps preserve that chapter. Years down the road, you’ll look back at these images and remember what life felt like right now.
2. You Deserve to Celebrate Your Love at Every Stage
You don’t need a milestone to justify a session. Just being in love is enough. You’ve grown, changed, overcome, and laughed your way through life together. That’s worth celebrating. A session is a chance to pause and say, “Look at us. Look how far we’ve come.”
3. It Strengthens Your Connection
This might be one of the best-kept secrets: photo sessions are kind of like date night. You get to dress up (or stay cozy—your call), focus on each other, and just be together without the noise of everyday life. I’ll gently guide you with prompts that bring out your natural connection. You’ll walk away feeling even more in love.
4. You’ll Have Beautiful Memories to Hold Onto
Life moves fast. But photos freeze moments. They give you something to hold onto, to frame on your wall or flip through on a rainy day. They become little time capsules—reminders of your love, just as it is, in all its beauty and realness.
5. It’s an Experience You’ll Treasure
The session itself becomes a memory. I’ve had couples tell me they were nervous beforehand, but ended up having so much fun. It’s not about forced poses or fake smiles—it’s about real moments, real laughter, and the kind of connection that shines through in every photo.
⸻
So whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, starting your journey together, or just want to soak up this season of your love story—let’s capture it. Let’s freeze time, even just for a little while.
Your love is worth it.
With all my heart,
Christin
